David, You'd probably lose less hair and sleep just pulling the old VHF guts out, and building a WA6SVT colinear inside the old radome:
http://www.repeater-builder.com/antenna/wa6svt.html You'll wind up with a very rugged, trouble-free antenna for very little money. Also, you can achieve higher gain, since the same length radome will hold more elements on 220 than the old VHF unit would provide for conversion. Just make sure not to skimp on any repairs if the gel-coat or hardware have deteriorated. 73, Paul, AE4KR ----- Original Message ----- From: David To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2008 10:00 AM Subject: [Repeater-Builder] 220 Antenna Has anyone ever cut down a VHF Station Master to operate on 220?
