The files uploaded are information about D-STAR Digital Voice & Data technology. D-STAR is an open protocol created by the JARL and designed for the amateur radio environment. Any manufacturer can make equipment for D-STAR. Icom is the first major manufacturer to produce D-STAR products. However in the USA there is a great deal of independent innovation occuring in the D-STAR environment including products such as the DV Dongle, dplus gateway software, d*Chat messaging software and D-PRS GPS coordinate tracking & APRS integration to name a few.
