Some of the expense for a crane is travel time. Depending on the size of the crane, it may have restricted times that it can be moved adding to the expense of job. If I had a tower that I wanted to have taken down by a crane, I would look around for a crane company doing work in my area. For example, if they are in your area doing a pick of a modular home you may be able to negotiate a lower price. This would mean that you would have to have a very flexible time frame and may have to pay COD when the work is done.
