As with most control heads they are simple wires connecting the various components a they would be if the controls were inside a radio.
If a multi-freq radio and for the vol and Sq (if there is one) and other controls 2 control heads would end up with a conflict. Where do you set the volume, freq, sq, etc...each head would be part of the setting. Now if you simply provided 2 speakers and 2 mikes, one at the control head and one set remote, then each could hear and talk on the radio. There are control heads with their own internal amps. still the freq would be a problem, but each head could control its volume. Most commercial rigs have both PTT and mike switching. So when mike is not keyed the mike element is disconnected allowing another mike/source for the audio. 73, ron, n9ee/r >From: tgundo2003 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date: 2008/05/01 Thu PM 11:27:59 CDT >To: [email protected] >Subject: [Repeater-Builder] A maxtrac question a little OT.. > >Does anyone know, or has anyone tried, to use 2 control >heads/faceplates on one Maxreac radio? > >I am outfitting an old ambulance into a communications vehicle and >would like to use one radio with a control head/mic in the front and >the back rather than needing 2 radios. > >Thanks! > >Tom >W9SRV > > > Ron Wright, N9EE 727-376-6575 MICRO COMPUTER CONCEPTS Owner 146.64 repeater Tampa Bay, FL No tone, all are welcome.
