Wish I could go to Dayton also. Use to live about 10 minutes from the place.

Here in Florida MSF5000s are going from $400-500 and MSR2000s $300. These are the continous duty 100 W, VHF and UHF. Cheaper than e-bay and don't have to pay shipping. plosting just for info on the rigs.

Great review. Sounds like a great time. Wish I had gone. I had heard crowds where good. Maybe better than last year, comments?

What are vhf MSF 5000's going for? I may need one if I can't keep my midland repeater going!

Well...

There are a decent number of Master II, MSF-5000, MSR-2000, Quintron -

Glennayre & Ritron Repeaters out in the Dayton Flea Market spaces.

I'm surprised how much ready to go 900 MHz equipment is available and
modestly priced. Mendlesons is selling brand new 800 & 900 station
master antennas (still in the cardboard tube).

I saw a tub of Motorola Sabre HT's go for $75. If you ever wanted a
Sabre now is the time to find them fairly cheap on the surplus
market.

A lot of people still think the Maxtrac 16 pin radios are worth much
gold... hence we aren't seeing a lot of lateral movement of Radius
type radios.

One of the best deals to find at Dayton are the 2 to 6 foot hard-
line and high quality coax jumpers. Typical prices are $10 to
$20 each jumper, which is a great price if you are looking for
that sort of thing. Rolls of 7/8 and a ton of superflex are being
offered by many of the commercial radio types (dealers) selling
surplus NOS feed-line.

People are using Micor Mobiles to hold down their tents... on Sunday
as folks depart a scoop loader comes down the rows picking up what
everyone leaves behind.

A few MVP's and Mitrek radios are sprinkled around. This year
Motorola HT-600's seem to be plentiful although there is no
reported (yet) "going rate/price" per radio.

Most of the 220 band ACSB stuff we see every year is gone... just
one LMR (Linear Modulation) 220 ACSB Repeater and some SEA Mobiles
here and there.

A fairly large number of duplexers and cavity bottles sprinkle the
landscape and I'm told the prices for a typical close spaced two
meter duplexer are still in hundreds of dollars range.

One mystery 2m (vhf band) duplexer... looks like a Sinclair brand
product but reportedly turns out to be a fairly odd-ball Decibel
Products package.

Cliff and Doug have a lot of neat 900 stuff available so stop by
their spaces if you'd like to say hi and see the goodies.

The smell of kerosene and bbq blow through the entire
area... some from the cooking food grill and a number of utility
carts people drive around. The "Cowgirls Drill Team" Support
Group has the brauts...

In another half day Dayton 2008 will pass into the history books.

Still holding strong to my 12-Step "Junk Enders" Program but man
it's tough. Many people are very willing to ship things...

cheers,
s.
