Tony,

I have several MTR2000 repeaters in service, none of which have or need an
external controller. My first suggestion is to disconnect your Zetron
controller and see if the MTR2000 works well without it. When problems like
this occur, it is often caused by squelch settings within the MTR2000
competing with the external controller. When an external controller is
handling the repeater function, the MTR2000 should have the squelch set wide
open, and be operated in base station mode.

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Moto MTR2000 Controller Interface Problem

A repeater group in our area has a VHF MTR2000 interfaced to a Zetron
panel.

For months now they've been experiencing audio level drops on weak
signals into the repeater. There is no level change if the signal is
DFQ.

The local Moto authorized shop has thus far been unable to resolve the
problem.

Any ideas as to what the cause could be?
