I have an arcom rc-210 and found that the cat cable I had worked fine on a pc but not on my controller. It turned out to be the circuit in the cable that converted levels for the yaesu radio took power off of the serial port on the pc. (cts or dtr I can't remember) anyway I took a 9v wall wart and connected it to the circuit in place of the serial port power and it worked great. Most controllers don't support anything but txd and rxd so the level converters needed by radios like my yaesu 857 need external power to run

Thanks a lot.. I will take a look at that one the web.. The ------ one we have has some desirable features but if it won't do what it is supposed to it is sort of a waste. I just can't figure out why it won't change freqs. Has to be a hardware issue, wiring issue or procedure I suppose. - M From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 02, 2008 11:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Repeater-Builder] Bang for the buck? Taking a quick look at the FT-900 CAT format (supported by both controllers), it appears similar to the FT-100D.
