It is my understanding that the new specification for RG-214 is foil-braid. There was a discussion on the list back in April and there may be some documents in the list's file section.
Also have you measured the desense into a dummy load? Does it only appear when the antenna is attached? If so, Take a look at the FM broadcast band and write down the stations you hear, then look for a pair that is spaced 5 MHz apart.
