Re: Maggiore Hi-Pro Repeaters I've bought a few of their 224 MHz repeaters and I'm pretty happy with their products. I also inherited a 443 MHz repeater that I'm still trying to repair from dead and it's a fairly straight-forward process (no surprises yet).
Their current line of RF modules... i.e. their receiver, transmitter and small rf amplifier circuits seem to be well though out (designed) and constructed. I'm very happy with their overall performance and reliability. Maggiore (Hi-Pro) (like Hamtronics) Repeaters are a little quirky in the way they handle ctcss removal or through-put and the/any available low level squelched audio from the receiver (or lack there of). Dealing with a Hi-Pro Receiver interfacing depends on where and what audio, ctcss, cos/cor and discriminator functions you desire and your external controller. For simplicity I terminated the squelched high-level audio output before routing it through a ts-32 ctcss filter into my external controller. Same type of issues dealing with the transmitter... you would need to set up and add your choice of external ctcss signaling from your encoder, with our without reverse burst and drop/removal based on how much you want to get into the details. The crystals in my exciters are only "on the board" and much to my surprise the repeater tx stays pretty well on frequency. The receiver front end survives fairly busy mountain-top life with other adjacent 224 MHz repeater at the same site. Based on watching the movie all the way through... I give their products "two thumbs up". cheers, skipp > "Eric Lemmon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dave, > The company you're looking for is Maggiore, the makers of > Hi-Pro stations. > Go here: > <www.hiprorepeaters.com/> > For some reason, the company name is frequently misspelled > as "Maggorie." > 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dave > > Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Ham Repeater Manufaturers > > Has anyone ever heard of or know anything about VHF repeaters > > made by Magory > > (I think that's correct)?
