You are likley to find that a 50 watt repeater transmitting on the same roof as
any other VHF radios (in the same command vehicle) will desense the other
radios.
I would recommend you consider something in the 20 watt or less range.
This is a case where less is better, especially since you are likley to use a
notch duplexer not a pass or pass/notch.
It is one thing to suffer the interference of a high power simplex radio during
half the conversation, something else to suffer thru the both sides of a
conversation on by a repeater.
