Maybe I'm in the minority, but my experience with Magicjack has not been good.
Echoes or stutters. I've checked and adjusted my PC for optimum performance.
Quality
checks with recommended servers yields good results but 75% of the time I get
echoes
that vary from minor to severe.

other VOIP client

I can call anyone in the USA and Canada with my Magic Jack. I am assuming it
works the same way from Canada. Check out their web site to be sure. You must
have a reliable high speed internet connection for it to work good. I have
dumped my $51 a month landline and now use MJ as my home phone. I live on a
mountain and our repeater is located here. For $1.66 a month for unlimited
local and long distance it is hard to beat.

Thanks for all the fast replies. The only hitch in my idea is
finding a voip or voice client for the blackberry that is not
designed to make cheapy phone calls, but that can work like a walkie
talkie, either full duplex or half duplex.

Any one know of a blackberry app that can work like that? Skype for
the blackberry has to work thru a desktop like a remote.

    Thanks
