Some TKR-820 repeaters will not tune into the ham band. I sent one in to be tuned in the ham band, it's still here in the box, to Kenwood East for a complete alignment and tuning. Kenwood East could NOT get the unit to tune into the ham band and remain stable. They did test the unit further and could make it play well just at 450 but not below. The repeater was then programmed for GMRS, perfect. Met and exceeded all factory specs. I know some will tune as low as 441, and at least a handful of units we've had won't tune into the ham bands. Maybe we don't have the right alignment data and we are not Kenwood experts but after the shop couldn't get the one tuned, it didn't seem worth fighting with the units further. Travis AA9NV
