R09.07 is the last distributed revision of release 9 of the Quantar RSS.  As 
such, it is OK to use it to program a station with any of the release 9 
versions of firmware [or earlier].

Based on your production date, I suspect your station will have a newer release 
firmware.  If it does, you will need newer RSS.

The Quantar RSS versions will run in MSDOS 6.22.  You won't hurt anything by 
reading the station.  Get your firmware level by first reading the station, 
then F2 Service, then F6 Status Panel, then F3 Software version.

That will list what version you have for each module in the form RXX.YY.ZZZ

The XX will probably be 20.  The YY.ZZZ will be the version you need to know.  
Yours will probably be 10.something, but if it is 09.ZZZ you're fine with the 
RSS you have.

If you need something newer, you can contact Motorola parts, sign a license 
agreement, and order the latest Windows based Quantar programming software 
which will work with any of the released station firmware versions preceding 
its release date.
