I wanted to pass back to everyone my findings on my linking issues.
The alnicos I got did not have the tnc's and I did have the pull-up resistor in the cable. I brought it home and hooked it up to my backup repeater at the house and it worked ! So now I find it must be something in the controller which is a cat 1000 so I will address it this weekend and see what I find there.
