I would like to add my 2 cents on the powerpoles.

Our club has a number of systems on mountian tops. Our history with powerpoles
is that unless you mechanically lock both side together, they have a tendancy
to back out and open circuit due to temperature change. I'm talking about the
whole connector, not just one connection.

Generally I have found them to be extremely fussy about how the criping has to
be done and generally, I am not inclined to use them unless I solder them and
do each connection, including a pull test, on every connector. They tend to
let you down when you most need them.

For quick temporary connections they are fine. I use them in my mobile but
after many trips to mountian tops, we don't allow them to be installed anymore.
