I may have seen a similar question posted, but I could not find it. I have a GMRS repeater set up on 462.6. There is no duplexer so I have 2 antennas vertically separated apart to let them function properly. I have a hang time carrier set for 2.5 seconds and when it is on the is a crackling sound in it. It does not happen all the time but probably every 5-6 keys it does it. I am using LMR 400 cable which I have now found to my knowledge that the braid cable is not recommended for what im using it for. Any idea's on what the noise is?
