Dan,

Most circulator manufacturers no longer offer low-band units, although they
might custom-make one for you for perhaps $800 to $1,000. The
least-expensive route is to find a used but working low-band isolator, and
arrange with Telewave, EMR, or TX-RX to remanufacture it to your exact
transmit frequency. Due to the physical constraints of the internal ferrite
and magnetic components, low-band isolators cannot be tuned more than a few
hundred kHz or so away from their original frequency. Since moving a
low-band circulator or isolator to the 6m band normally involves grinding
material away to raise the setpoint, it may be possible to modify it for a
reasonable price- probably $300 or so. Some isolator manufacturers will
refuse to work on a used unit if it has been opened. The advantage of
having your isolator remanufactured is that it will be perfectly tuned to
your frequency and will have a guarantee of workmanship.

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Six-Meter Isolator Circulator

Do you know where I can get a reasonably priced isolator or circulator for
the six-meter band? I see lots of items for 2 meters, 1.25 meters, and 70
centimeters, but nothing for low band applications.
