We use quite a few Trident controllers (Raiders), they will do LTR & conventional.
Came across a number of the SEA Trident units several years ago, Trident advised chip sets were all custom, and units would only work with SEA or EFJ ACSB units. They were correct, seriously tried, no luck. The SEA Trident units look identical to the Trident TNT controllers, but very different software and chipsets, would like to know if anyone got one working. Once you get past the installation hurdles they work fairly well and they seem to be fairly well constructed. LTR Trunking has a lot to offer the commercial radio world. On the ham side you can use them with your 927.xxx MHz Repeater and some of the more popular radios like the Motorola GTX-900 and Kenwood TK-981. However, you are not normally allowed to decode carrier squelch and CTCSS & DCS signals while using LTR so the persons you're talking to need to have it, or you run scan with a conventional channel. It all gets quirky. We have LTR Overlay on one 925 MHz box and a co-operational conventional box going on the same time. Just for fun but it does work. cheers, s.
