What happens when you put two dipole facing one direction (the same) and two 
facing the exact opposite (180 degrees from the other two)?

All inline will be 9dB gain in one lobe.

Two each at 180 degrees offset will be a figure 8 with 6dB on each lobe.

And of course one each at 90 degrees offset will be 6dB omnidirectional.
