I contacted a rare antibody as a result of mice contact. This might
be rare in the general population but possibly not so rare with
repeater site people.
It is called HAMA (Human Antimouse Antibody) and in it's self is no
problem however the routine blood test for thyroid will give a false
high TSH reading. My GP for at least ten years gave me Levothroxine
to try to keep it under control. I started getting most of the
medication listed problems with that medication. Finally I got
referred to endocrinology and after a MRI and other tests a blood
sample was sent to the Kaiser lab in North Hollywood. It showed a TSH
of 0.4 instead of the automated local lab test which was showing
15. Under this medication the T-4 was out of limits on the high side
as well. I lost weight and muscle fiber to the point of having to
use hand rails when going up stairs and had to quit climbing towers.
For a year now I have been off the medication I am back to climbing towers.
I hesitated posting this for some time because it has little to do
with repeater building but thought maybe it might be of some help to
some unsuspecting friend.
