I have a CD-2 attached to a scanner, and often thought that a redesigned CD2 with MDC and a port to drive a logging printer added would be VERY useful. Date and time stamps of what tone is on what channel would identify real vs paper repeaters...
One idea that has been percolating in the back of my mind has been a TM-V7 replacement display module that would mount in the existing plastic shell, but with an LCD display run by it's own dedicated CPU. The firmware would do everything the V7 does plus the CD2 functionality plus MDC, APRS and log to an SD card (or something similar). >From the point of view of the existing processor in the V7 the radio is stock, but the new display would include display of such things as received DPL / PL, APRS info and even MDC decode. This unit is what started the thoughts... and while it is a little too large vor the V7 display housing, the $20 price is tempting... <http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=710> Mike WA6ILQ On Sat, Oct 10, 2009 at 5:38 PM, Matt Harker <[email protected]> wrote: > > > I am looking for a CSI CD-2 communication decoder, if anyone has one > they'd like to part with. > > TNX and 73's de > > KC5DBH Matt > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam?
