Looking at the power requirements for the IFR COM-120B they are:
90 to 135 VAC (50 to 400 Hz)
or
200 to 265 VAC (50 to 60 Hz)
or
12 to 30 VDC
I wonder if the step up/step down was done to meet all the possible
supply voltages?
