I tried a J-pole for my 53.370 machine some 14 or 15 years ago and found it useless for full-duplex. It's a great simplex antenna but it really fell apart for repeater use. I tried everything to decouple it from the feedline and gave up. Now, I've had good luck with the Ringo series antennas, but it would be too long for Martins situation. I ended up using a Db 212-2 at 275'. So Martin, I agree with Tyke. Go with the 201 or roll your own ground plane.
