First, the DB-201 was not designed for tower side-mounting, so don't expect it to work well. That said, how far away from the tower will the antenna be? There's a real good chance that the VSWR will go sour when it's side-mounted. However, I have no personal experience with that antenna, but in all the low-band installations around here, I've never seen that antenna side-mounted.
