Good stuff is hard to kill... meaning old quality radios can and do last a long time. > Who wants it? Other than a few specialized collectors of certain equipment types... not many. Most people want new faster better equipment and the old stuff is displaced. > Is there a two way museum? Not one of any substantial size that I've ever heard about. If they do, it's probably not very big and doesn't seem to be very famous for being one. > Example, I have a 4channel ex FBI all tube radio, 2 6146's > in the P.A., was vibrator, now diode rect. Maybe make up a game plan to cut the transmitter PA Section off the rest of the chassis with a hack saw, mount it with a power supply and build yourself one heck of a very nice decent RF Power Amplifier where much of the RF portion of the project has been done for you. A pair of 6146b tubes have a tremendous amount of usable RF Gain. There were articles published in QST on similar projects and I've done a fair number of similar conversions. You can get very creative with surplus radio gear. Not everything has to be store bought. s.
