Hi All, I'm going to be installing a bunch of 3" copper ground strap in my ham shack. When running the strap I've read that sharp turns are bad and a minimum bend radius of 12" should be used. This is fine if I need to bend the strap in the one direction.
What happens if I have a strap running horizontally nailed flat on a wall and I need to go vertically down with another strap to tied onto it making a T. This vertical strap would also be nailed flat on the wall. Wouldn't this sharp corner present a high impedance? Would it be better if the vertical downward strap be tied on top of the other strap so it starts to run horizontally, then twisted 90 degrees turned down with a 12" bend radius then twisted again so it can be nailed flat on the wall or is this unnecessary? My next question is along those lines as well. If I have a run that goes horizontally flat along a wall is it ok to cut it then run a vertical strap flat down the wall down making a basically a sharp 90? Thanks, Jesse
