A = under 25mhz... the first I ever saw was a carrier
current in-plant paging system at around 60KHz.

B=25-50, usually 30-50 but I've seen a few radios in the 26mhz range.
C=66-88, originally 72-76Mhz
D=132-174, originally 136-172, but some product 
lines were limited to 150.8-172 or 174
E=395-525, originally 406-420 and 450-470.
F=800 and 900MHz

I don't know what they are using for 700mhz.
