Personally I'd rather have each radio going out its own speaker. It works alot better when the speakers are mounted in different locations in the vehicle so you can tell which radio it's coming from without looking at it.
Other guys I know that run multiple radios usually stick with really small speakers that they can stick right next to each other. Though I suppose you could spend a couple bucks and try some diodes?
