That is the way I see it most of the time. If I did want to do anything, I would just change the capacitors. I have had an Astron 50 amp supply on for probably 15 or more years and an Elenco 25 amp supply on for about 30 years. The only times they have been off was when I moved or disconnected during thunder storms. They have even been left on during many of the thunder storms.
