What make and model of duplexers do you have. Dont remember seeing that mentioned. The tuning rods and loops would be the main idem to plate. They are the main current carrlying surfaces. I have see some Sinclair cavities where those part are silver plated and the main part of the cavity is anodized.
Plating is for a two fold reason. Oxidation and surface conductivitly. Left bare copper and brass will oxidize on the surface. Oxidized surfaces have much higher loss Silve will also ozidize but silver oxide is less losy than clean brass or copper. Add a little moisture in the mix and things get worse faster---the green meanies Just doing the loops and rods is well worth the effort if not just for long term stability. Here againg what models are you looking at??? I know I have some books with articles on plating that I can copy and email to you if you would like. Makes for some interesting reading. I think I also have the ARRL book with the home made 2 meter duplexers which talk about plating..
