Ross,

Looks like a standard PA on the GE MSTRII.

The other board looks like a audio filter or audio generator. These are used
when the receiver is attached to a voter. It produces the 1950 Hz tone when the
receiver is not receiving a valid signal and goes away when a valid signal is
received.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Strange VHF PA with power resistor setup problem

Hello Group,

Hey have any of you seen one of these PA's with the power resistors over
inductors? Came out of a VHF repeater with a IDA control shelf. The problem
with the PA is intermittent power output. Runs 10watts or 100watts depending on
if you just smacked it or not. I saw it arc above the second driver after a
smack when it came up to 100 watts where it looks like there is a lack of
solder. I was going to poke around literally with a insulated tuning tool but I
thought I'd ask first.

Also, the other picture attached. I've seen these tone boards before but what
do they do? Haven't found any documentation on one yet. Even on RB

Thanks for reading!
