I've seen this exact situation after a unit was moved. It's probably even more likely when both parts are from the same vendor. I've seen it with quick turn parts from ICM, too.
I don't know if it's caused by mechanical stress from aging, or the addition of contaminant mass to the quartz stirred up by the move.
