Hello,

I did my best to find a relevant information but to no avail,
hope somebody here has the knowledge to answer the following.

Is there a way to tweak the contents of the initramfs without
literally rebuilding everything?

It looks like one needs 50GB disk space and lots of tools for
rebuilding.

This feels highly redundant when the desired change is in the order of
tens of bytes.

Is there any easier way? None of the many descriptions and "repack"-tools
which I could locate on the net correspond to the structure of boot.img.

While I was able to make some sense of it by manual splitting, there ought
to be a better way.

I could live with manual splitting and "unsplitting" and even with a
need to write a tool, if the structure had been documented - but I can
not see a usable description anywhere.

Any opinions?
