The '-s' in 'git commit --amend -s' creates it automatically.

In a nutshell it means that you declare being the author of the patch
and/or that you have the legal right to submit under a free software
license[1].

As some upstream projects do require it, we try to get it as well, in
order to easily be able to send our patches upstream.
