However the GT-N7100 variant is compatible, and last time I tried on Replicant 6 it worked fine. The main difference between the two devices is that the GT-N7105 modem doesn't work with the Replicant 6 releases, however there has been some work to make that modem work, but I don't remember with what device it has been tested (GT-I9105, GT-I9305, etc). Also nobody had the time to integrate that work into Replicant 6 yet. Doing that would require to send patches to this mailing list. Beside the modem, it's probably not much work to integrate support for the GT-N7105 in Replicant, so if someone has the time to try it, we could review and merge patches for that if needed. > Also the wifi doesn't autodetect, there is a search > option/input field, but what do I search for? For the WiFi it's a known issue: the WiFi firmwares are nonfree and we don't ship them in the Replicant images. For the supported devices, some Replicant users probably install the nonfree firmwares on top of Replicant, so at some point we will need to fix the issue for good and work to make the WiFi chips work without nonfree firmwares. In the meantime there are some external USB WiFi dongles that work with Replicant 6.0. In the upcoming Replicant 6.0 0004 release, that is way better integrated, but we still need to find the time to fix a bug I spotted at the last moment before doing the final release. For new installations, Replicant 6.0 0004 RC5 doesn't have any significant regression compared with Replicant 6.0 0003, so it should be safe to install anyway, at least on supported devices. Denis.
