If it would be obligatory to use, then I can go to government office
and do it from there. They have to provide computer too. And you
better complaint if it is proprietary.

Otherwise, as proprietary software then not on my computer.

If it is free software that is fine to use. Governments are
centralized of course and it is similar problem to centralized social
networks.

Both governments and centralized social networks WANT to manipulate
their users, and they do and know how.

Centralized social networks are IMHO even worse as there is no set of
rules like constitution to govern the network equally fair for
everybody.
