Package: reportbug
Severity: wishlist
i have sometimes used reportbug to report bugs on packages within a chroot.
it would be nice if it could grab package version, dependency info, and
debconf data from the chroot, rather than the installed system.
possibly, to try and report on a bug for package "foo", which is installed
in the chroot "/some/chroot/dir" options to reportbug would look something
like this:
reportbug --chroot /some/chroot/dir foo
thanks!
live well,

Well, there are so many different tool to create chroot/virtual
machine, I don't think we're going to clutter reportbug with all the
possible operation to retrieve those info. I suggest to use the
--template option to generate a template for the inside of the chroot,
and then use it on your machine to report the bug. That said, I'm
closing this report.
Cheers,
