Since no one tried to troubleshoot this, I did it by myself. I cleared
environment from all variables and started to add them back one by one. Then
I found that
*
GTK2_RC_FILES=/etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:/home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0:/home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0-kde:/home/krasu/.kde/share/config/gtkrc-2.0
*
is causing the problem. I removed all working components from this variable,
and found that *~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde* OR *~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde* are causing the
problem. Config files themselves:
*************
$ cat /home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Clearlooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
style "user-font" {
font_name = "Tahoma 8"
}
widget_class "*" style "user-font"
gtk-font-name="Tahoma 8"
include "/home/krasu/.gtkrc.mine"
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
$ cat /home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0-kde
# This file was written by KDE
# You can edit it in the KDE control center, under "GTK Styles and Fonts"
include "/usr/share/themes/Qt4/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
style "user-font"
{
font_name="Tahoma"
}
gtk-theme-name="Qt4"
gtk-font-name="Tahoma 8"
*************
The bug is reproduced when *GTK2_RC_FILES=/home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0* or when *
GTK2_RC_FILES=/home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0-kde*. Then I set *export
GTK2_RC_FILES=/home/krasu/.gtkrc-2.0* and tried to debug a little bit this
config file. Finally I found that *gtk-font-name="Tahoma 8"* is causing the
problem. This file was written by gtk-chtheme. I don't know HOW can font
size break reportbug's GTK frontend, but it breaks. All other GTK apps
(native apps w/o python bindings) work fine. So, as I already said, this is
a bug in reportbug or python-gtk2.
