Package: reportbug
Version: 6.4.3
Severity: normal

When I tried to report specific kernel module bugs to:
linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64 with reportbug,
I stumbled uppon a faulty behaviour of its.

After having informed it that the package for which I wished
to file a bug for was: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64, as can be seen
in the output below:

....
Getting status for linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64...
Checking for newer versions at madison...
Will send report to Debian (per lsb_release).
Querying Debian BTS for reports on linux (source)...
....

reportbug queried BTS for 'linux' which is way too generic; thus
fetching a decent load on irrelevant, to that linux-image release bugs.

Is this the desired behaviour or, as I think it should, reportbug
should have fetched only bugs for: 'linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64'?

yes it is, as it's controlled by:
/usr/share/bug/linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64/control which states
"Submit-As: src:linux" generating the effects you're seeing.

so it's the kernel decision to make that happen, and it's not a bug in
reportbug, hence closing.

Regards,
