this is likely due to dovecot having a bug script requesting user
input or not  completing successfully.

Surprisingly, sarcasm and pretentiousness doesn't help to fix bugs.

It is a bug, you've reported (thanks for that), it will be fixed; stop
acting like it's the biggest problem of the world (you can use the
text ui).
