Yes, downloading again and using the sequence of gunzip then tar to
extract the source worked fine.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I just downloaded and tested the uncompress and did not get any errors.
You might want to try to download again. Also did you pull it off the
US mirror (reportmagic.com) or some other mirror?
