If you are new to playing Texas Holdem then there are some things
that you need to learn before you begin to play Texas Holdem
online. The first thing that you need to learn is which hands
will beat other hands, this is crucial to Texas Holdem strategy.

First is the high card hand, this is the worst hand in a Texas
Holdem poker game, but it does win on occasion in online Texas
Holdem. In this hand the person with the highest value card will
win the hand because no one else has anything better.

The value of cards, from best to worst, are ace, king, queen,
jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. So if in a hand you have an
ace and the best card your opponent has is a queen you win.

The next best hand is a pair. Just as it sounds this means that
you have two cards that are the same value. If all you have is a
pair and your opponent only has a pair, then the highest value
pair will win the hand. After this comes two pairs in online
Texas hold em.

The next best hand is three of a kind. This is where you have
three cards all of the same value. After this comes the straight.
A straight is when you have five cards in numerical order. One
important note here is the ace, the ace can be used for a
straight of 10, jack, queen, king, and ace. An ace can also
count as a 1, and make a straight such as ace, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Now comes the flush. A flush is when you have all five cards of
the same suit. There are four suits in a deck of cards and they
are spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. If both you and your
opponent have a flush then the person with the higher flush wins.

A full house is next on the progression of Texas Holdem hands. A
full house is best explained as three of a kind plus a pair. This
is when you have three cards all of the same value and two cards
of a different value, but the same as one another.

Now we come to the four of a kind. Four of a kind is when you
have four cards of the same value in a single hand. After the
four of a kind is the straight flush. A straight flush is when
you combine a straight and a flush. A straight flush is when you
have five cards in numerical order and all five are the same
suit.

The final and best possible hand that you can get in poker is
the royal flush. A royal flush is when you have 10, jack, queen,
king, and ace all of the same suit. This is the best hand that
you will ever get in Internet Texas holdem.
