Primary Function:

The Technical Consultant provides technical support to clients and their
employees for a wide range of code developing needs that may include working
with Human Resources and Financial software packages as well as work with
any of a variety of web based and e-business based software needs.

Mandatory Skills:

Experience with conversions and interfaces, workflow, PeopleCode, strong
written and verbal skills.
Excellent analytical and communication skills


Must be able to apply generally accepted programming standards and
techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
Responsible for developing or creating code that will enable data to be
converted to a software application.
Responsible for developing or creating code that will create reports per
user specification.
Responsible for developing or creating code to interface different
Responsible for developing or creating code modifications to software per
user specification.
Provides written documentation of all coding.
May provide formal classroom and informal one-on-one end-user training as
needed or requested.
Conduct system testing and troubleshoot errors.
Generate queries and perform database operations using SQL.

Knowledge & Skills:

Programming skills.
Should have experience with some or all of the following: SQR, People tools,
People code, Data management tools, HRMS, Financials, Workflow, C, C++,
Java, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, CORBA, EJB, ASP.
Good analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Multi-tasking ability.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
Solid interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of object-oriented concepts.
Ability to generate high quality code quickly and cleanly with minimum
Creative and flexible with the ability to handle a highly dynamic
environment in a positive manner.
 Will require current knowledge on latest technologies or product specific
release information. This will include obtaining a PeopleSoft Certification
where applicable.


Bachelor's Degree, Technical Training/Certification or a minimum of 3 years
relevant experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have finger dexterity.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, to speak clearly, to
communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to work with a
computer monitor for an extended period of time.
Must have ability to do frequent overnight travel.


18 mos – 3 years business experience.
Programming experience required.
PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL, MicroFocus COBOL desired.
Knowledge of Designer 2000, Developer 2000, forms desired.
Client/Server experience preferred.
Knowledge of HR, Financial or Manufacturing systems or transaction
applications a plus.
Relational database design/development experience is a plus.
Must have experience with windows-based applications; e.g., Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint.
MS Project experience preferred.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation to client sites.
Must be willing to attend ongoing training sessions.
Must maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times.
