Position: Technical Writer

Location: Baltimore, MD

Position Summary:

Contractor works with SSA management and SSA technical personnel to create
documentation for tracking development plans, describing the design and
writing policy/procedures of operational requirements associated with the
SSA Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 programs. Taking meeting
notes and performing administrative and budget type functions

*JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Essential Functions:*

· Define system documentation requirements based on input from SSA

· Gather system plans/design details from systems administrators, network
administrators and other technical personnel.

· Compose narrative documentation to describe system policy, procedures, and
architecture designs and operations requirements.

· Create graphic illustrations of systems, develop/maintain program plans
and update spreadsheets/program graphs used in the tracking of milestones.

· Understand and conform to SSA documentation requirements for document
formatting and version control.


· Bachelor's Degree and three years technical writing experience.

· Strong background with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft
Project, Share Point and Visio.

· Experience with Adobe Acrobat.

· Knowledge of IEEE documentation standards (For example: IEEE 1362-1998
Concept of Operations).

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· U.S. Citizenship.
