Please send the resumes only on *s...@cy-tec.com* *Systems Engineer/NW Admin* Location: Salem, VA (southwestern VA) Duration: 4 months plus *Systems Engineer/Network Administrator position* This individual must be a self-starter and strong collaborator with high energy and drive to meet the needs of a demanding business environment. Must have a proven track record working in a complex systems environment using established configuration and change management processes. Systems Administration – *manages servers supporting TMC, performs backups, security.* Network administration – *manages routers, switches, and support field devices supporting TMC*. Server/PC Hardware repair – performs preventative maintenance and manage problem resolution. Technical Troubleshooting & Support for Core Application Software. Oracle Database Administration – *manages relational database software.* Experience with a variety of network and systems protocols, transmission methods and network/systems technologies. Experience *utilizing network sniffer and traffic analysis tools*. Demonstrated expertise in *troubleshooting application, server, desktop, and/or network problems.* In-depth information technology design, implementation and maintenance required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Strong orientation toward excellent customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with system integrators, external solution providers and business partners. Must provide examples of documentation and process skills. **This is a small installation, less than 10 servers, 10-15 desktops, and assorted networking devices. Must understand all aspects of support required in a Data Center. **Contract extension beyond 6/30/09 is probable but cannot be guaranteed. **Candidates currently located in SW VA or the surrounding areas are strongly preferred *Data Center management* 5 Years *Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 administration and support exp* 8 Years *Cisco and/or Nortel router and switch installation, configuration* and mgmt 8 Years *TCP/IP, LAN/WAN development and management work experience* 8 Years Exp managing services and* backups for Oracle databases on a Windows platform* 5 Years Good change mgmt process experience 3 Years Solid troubleshooting and support skills 5 Years Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area *Question 1:* Does the candidate have the flexibility to travel occasionally to Richmond for mtgs, etc., and more frequently to Staunton's Traffic Mgmt Center?
