JOB DESCRIPTION – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the Content Management
System and Video Production Tools throughout the product lifecycle. The
successful candidate will gather and prioritize requirements, define the
product roadmap, and work closely with development and/or third party
vendors, to deliver the products. The product manager will also work with
the Business Development team to ensure that all clients production needs
are met and that they are successfully distributing content to Reuters
Insider.
This software product management role involves analysing the metadata used
within the product, making recommendation and how to best use the metadata
and driving the changes within the product. This role in the editorial group
will offer the successful candidate the chance to influence the evolution of
news delivery.
Responsibilities include:
• Understanding, analyzing and documenting customer requirements
• Define the product roadmap
• Deliver Functional Requirement Documents with prioritized features
• Prioritize Enhancements and Bugs
• Taking the products through the production lifecycle to launch
• Perform product demos to customers and internal stakeholders
• Meet with clients to solicit client feedback
• Researching market and competitive offerings
Responsibilities include:
- Structuring and driving a program to analyse and rate clip metadata
- Recommend improvements to metadata generation workflow
- Drive improvements throughout the product based on deep understanding of
how metadata is generated and its level of accuracy
- Understanding, analyzing and documenting customer requirements
- Researching market and competitive offerings
- Prioritizing requirements with stakeholders
- Working with other groups to integrate services into other Thomson Reuters
products
- Working with software development teams to drive requirements
implementation

JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
 Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree is a MUST
• Minimum of 3 - 10 years experience as a (Software) Product Manager
(shipping software out to market)
• Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
• MUST have online video experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience writing Comprehensive Functional Requirements
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal
authority
• Past
• Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus (in order
from largest plus to smallest)
o Experience with Content Management Systems
o Experience with Television or Production
o Experience with Information Architecture
o Financial markets
o Working on projects with external development and test organizations
o Agile software development

Key skills:
• Working with stakeholders to define priorities.
• Writing Functional Requirement Specifications.
• Working with internal development teams as well as third party vendors.
