SAP BI Developer

The Office of the State Controller (OSC) is seeking a short term (approx. 6 month) contractor to augment an existing SAP BI staff. The selected candidate will be responsible for both new development and post production support within an existing implementation of SAP BI HCM. Responsibilities will span most aspects of SAP BI. The ideal candidate will have very strong skills in programming and customization skills in SAP BI within the Human Resource modules such as PA, OM, BN, PY and PT. The candidate must have strong work ethic, people skills, and experience in SAP BI implementations from the analysis and design through to implementation. The role will require the BI Developer to support, design, configure, develop, test, and implement efficient and cost effective solutions. In additions this position will require a strong level of experience with SAP BI data modeling, data staging, data extraction, and logical/physical database design as well as recognizing design dependencies between projects, and a deeper experience with data cleansing, aggregating, transforming and validating the data to ensure accuracy and consistency. The candidate must be able and willing to provide mentoring and training for other BI team members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
· Ability to design, implement and support complex extraction,
transformation and loading of SAP BI data
· Ability to activate standard business content, extend extractors, and establish/monitor process chains
· Experience in all phases of the project life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and post-production support/maintenance
· Expertise with SAP BI Business Explorer (Query Designer, BEx
Analyzer, BEx Web, Report Designer) and SAP BI Web Application
Designer. Capable of developing complex queries, workbooks,and web applications
· High proficiency of the English language - speaking, writing, and reading.
· Effective and collaborative communication skills; able to work well with internal team members and provide mentoring and knowledge transfer
· Ability to research and debug potential performance or other
system anomalies. (demonstrates superior problem resolution)
· Ability to create and compile technical documentation
· Demonstrates solid skill developing ABAP and BAPI programs
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in SAP BI with complex extraction, loading, modeling, and development in the area of SAP HCM (PA, OM, BN, PY, PT)
· Knowledge and experience with SAP Portal, SAP ECC reporting
· Solid understanding of core SAP ECC business processes
Other Requirements:
The vendor must notify the Agency if any portion of the requirements listed in this Task Order are to be outsourced to other countries.   Include this information in your Task Order response.
