Primary responsibility is to develop SP's, queries, PL/SQL, ERD's, DDL and performance and tuning on the database, backup and recovery scheduling. The database administrator responsible for design, development, troubleshooting, database monitoring for all five Hippocrates modules. Quickly understands functional and technical aspects of software development projects and offer excellent communication skills. Experience with developing web enabled State health emergency preparedness and response applications a strong plus and/or experience developing enterprise web applications. Must have experience in Oracle 10g, especially with database programming, writing SP's, queries, PL/SQL, ERD's, DDL. Must be a team player. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. May be requested to scribe meetings. Knowledgeable in database analysis and techniques. Must provide writing samples such as Email paragraphs during interview to demonstrate written communication skills. Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study *Role Description:* Actively contribute as an expert database designer. Expert designing stored procedures and programming for optimal performance. Works with programmers, product specialists to understand requirements for database queries, and offers advice on development. Coordinate product design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements. Provides enhancements to business and logical data models. Confirm that technical architecture will support all changes required by product enhancements. Apply specific expertise to ensure that products meet defined customer objectives. Convert business requirements and logical design into physical database DDL. Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the database. Resolves database issues in a timely manner. Identify and track issues, risks and action items related to the database and database programming. Must posess strong skills in object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation (using UML), with active involvement in all phases of project life cycle.
