Need of a Actuate Developer to develop Actuate reports, performs Actuate Server administration and customizes Actuate Web Portal, also required are OOP paradigm skills, as well as experience with J2EE APIs, protocols and development of multi tiered J2EE applications. Examples of current J2EE application program interfaces (APIs) are EJB, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, etc. Excels at analyzing functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business / IT strategies and complies with corporate architectural standards. Serves as SME in aspects of Actuate software development and serve admin. Resolves application and technical problems of the highest complexity. Provides mentoring and training to junior staff. Excels at working collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. Translates business requirements into functional / technical specifications; ensures implementation of these specifications. Tasks and Responsibilities: - Develop Actuate reports eReportDesigner, eSpreadSheet and BIRT reporting. - Administer in Actuate Sever(s) including server Clustering, Multi Volume applications and server upgrade planning. -Customize Actuate Web Portal customization including RSSE and API technologies. May develop using J2EE technology Excellent knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses an excellent understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment. Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses an excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies. Draws on extensive knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze problems of the greatest complexity and contribute to troubleshooting efforts. Leverages excellent design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment. Required education/experience: A minimum of 3 years recent experience in: - Actuate report development including eReportDesigner, eSpreadSheet and BIRT reporting. - Actuate Sever Administration including server Clustering, Multi Volume applications and server upgrade planning. - Actuate Web Portal customization including RSSE and API technologies. A minimum of 6 years experience developing Object Oriented applications in a full SDLC environment for a financial services firm (i.e., institutional/retail brokerage, bank, or asset management), with a minimum of 5 years having developed applications with J2EE and Web technologies. B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or Electrical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline. Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline is a BIG plus. . Experience with data-warehousing concepts and development a BIG plus. Experience developing with Informatica and/or Gentran a BIG plus. Working knowledge of Fixed Income Securities or Commercial Real Estate a BIG plus.
