Position Opening: Mainframe Application Analyst *Work Locations**: Tallahassee, FL* **** *Length of Contract: **1 Year, with likely extensions* *Hours: * *8a-5p schedule (40 hours per week*) *POSITION SUMMARY:* The position is with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to be able to maintain and enhance applications in the technical environment in which DCF’s application programs are written. DCF expects the individual who staffs this position have an extensive understanding of the suite of technologies it uses for applications development within DCF. The application development analyst must develop a strong understanding of the underlying business needs and aims of the DCF customers, and the various usage scenarios for the end users of the system. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* *The following are the usual, basic, and essential functions of the position.* *These functions are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.* · Working closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality application software. · Solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with DCF’s architectural standards. · Be involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. · Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. · Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations. · Experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. * * *Must complete and submit the following Skills Matrix with your # of years experience along with Resume* *Consultant Skills Matrices* *REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: * *# Years Experience* A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities and 2 plus years experience as an Applications Development Analyst with the following: · COBOL · JCL creation, modification, and maintenance. · CA-TELON · Web application integration with Mainframe CICS or IMS Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities with the IMS DB/DC Database Platforms Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities with the IBM z/OS Database Platform Operating Systems: Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities with the following Tools: - TELON - JCL - TSO - ISPF/PDF *DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:* *# Years Experience* Crystal Reports * * Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities with the following: · HP ServiceCenter · IBM Rational ClearCase · IBM Rational ClearQuest - IBM Rational Tool Administration * * *The above template(s) must be completed!* * * *Must complete and submit the following references template along with Resume and skills matrix.
